History
Four generations of winegrowers, a passion handed down from generation to generation

Frédéric Fagot is heir to a rich winegrowing tradition, rooted in two emblematic regions: the Vendée, passed down by his mother, and the Champagne region, his father's native land. Born in Reims in 1966, he grew up in the heart of Champagne culture and trained in viticulture before starting his career as a bottler in the Marne.

The death of his father marked a turning point. Frédéric joined his mother to support the family vineyard in the Vendée. In 2005, he took the bold step of extending the Vendée estate from 3 to 15 hectares, while continuing to cultivate the family's 3 hectares of vines in Champagne.

Today, Vignoble Fagot covers almost 18 hectares and embodies the combination of a strong heritage and a resolutely modern vision of winegrowing.

Terroirs
Unique terroirs, between Vendée and Champagne

Our land in the Vendée

Our Vendée vineyards stretch over a mosaic of soils: schist, alluvium, clay, gneiss and limestone. This geological diversity means we can grow a range of grape varieties suited to each plot.

We grow Pinot Noir, Gamay and Cabernet for the reds, and Sauvignon Blanc for the whites. The oceanic climate brings freshness and liveliness to our wines, making them easy to drink.

Our Vendée wines

Champagne, a family heritage

At Rilly-la-Montagne, in the Marne department, we are carrying on the heritage of four generations of winegrowers. On these 3 hectares, we produce artisanal champagnes that reflect the know-how passed down from father to son.

An indestructible link with our Champagne roots, cultivated with the same respect for the living as in the Vendée.

Organic farming: a natural commitment

"Between the Champagne region and the Vendée, the expression of a know-how that respects the environment.

Aware of the richness of our environment, we converted the Vendée vineyards to certified organic farming in 2014. This decision reflects our desire to preserve the land, biodiversity and the health of those who work and drink our wines.
Every day, we reflect on our practices to reduce our ecological footprint. Taking action has become a requirement, not an option.

Philosophy
In the cellar: let the wine express itself

After selling our grapes to winegrowers in the Fiefs Vendéens, we decided to progressively vinify our own harvests to produce wines that reflect our own image, a quest for mastery and personal expression.

In the cellar, our approach is minimalist and respectful. The grapes, harvested when perfectly ripe, are vinified without the use of inputs, giving preference to indigenous yeasts. A small amount of sulphiting may be applied before fermentation begins, a measured approach that we consider essential.

Always curious, we explore different containers: stainless steel or fibre vats, terracotta amphorae, and soon large tuns. Our credo is to let the wine evolve at its own pace, with minimal human intervention.

Vinification
Ageing in amphorae, an ancestral tradition

Among our experiments, maturing in amphorae holds a special place. These Italian terracotta jars, generously shaped and full of minerality, preserve the aromas while adding texture and complexity to the wine. The expression of the fruit remains intact and intense, carried by gentle curves that naturally set life in motion.

This year, we are releasing 15,000 bottles from our amphorae, including our 'Fagot Amphoria' cuvée, a pure, fruity Pinot Noir.

What's next?
Tradition and innovation: a vision for the future

We embody the combination of a strong family heritage and a contemporary vision of winegrowing. Attached to our roots, we are constantly innovating, always looking for new ways to sublimate our terroir and share our love of wine. Vignoble Fagot is constantly reinventing itself, guided by one conviction: only by listening and being precise can we bring out the best in each vintage.
